Position Responsibilities:

IPS is actively seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Construction Management team. 

Operations & Administrative

  1. Develops working knowledge of prime contract requirements and applies knowledge to project activities.
  2. Develops and maintains written preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans, obtains review and approval from Project Executive and/or Director of Operations, and communicates to project team.
  3. Develops and maintains written project scopes of work and communicates to project team.
  4. Develops and maintains project schedules, including targeted and actual activities lists, durations, and sequencing logic and communicates to project team. Works closely with Construction Manager and Site Superintendent to monitor performance against target schedule and implement corrective actions against non-conformances. Coordinates design, commissioning, and qualification schedule requirements with construction schedule.
  5. Works with Estimating to develop project budgets. Coordinates delivery of basis documents to Estimating. Obtains review and approval from Project Executive and/or Director of Operations, and communicates to project team.
  6. Monitors and reports project costs, including values committed, forecast to commit, allowances for growth, and actually expended. Works closely with Construction Manager and Superintendents to ensure that field events, conditions, exceptions, and issues are fully reflected in cost reports. Carefully forecasts final cost of project periodically.
  7. Manages changes to prime contract, including change control documentation and related financial documentation. Vigorously protects corporate positions.
  8. Ensures achievement of contractually required quality in design, and works with Construction Manager and Superintendents to ensure achievement of contractually required quality in construction.
  9. Oversees site safety for assigned projects and coordinates with Superintendents and safety resources, including sub-consultants, to establish site safety program, monitor site safety and correct non-conformances.
  10. Monitors design content and coordinates design revisions for constructability and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.
  11. Evaluates vendor and subcontractor invoices. Receives monthly invoices, evaluates requests for payment against actual performance, negotiates payments with subcontractors, and coordinates payments with subcontractors.
  12. Manages subcontractor and vendor change requests.
  13. Facilitates communication between subcontractors, vendors, and project personnel, and produces documentation of communication between project participants. Leads and coordinates the RFI process.
  14. Personally makes periodic site inspections and evaluations and reports on the results of those inspections.
  15. Completes daily reports of site conditions, including weather, force levels, and safety issues.
  16. Completes job safety analysis documentation and other safety documentation as required by corporate safety program.
  17. Conducts periodic coordination meetings with trade subcontractors at site.
  18. Accumulates, evaluates, and presents feedback information to Project Executive regarding errors and omissions in construction documents and performance of equipment, materials, and systems.
  19. Ensures that all project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements. Project documents include records of communications, design documents, bid packages and addenda and bulletins thereto, and submittals, among others.
  20. Ensures that all IPS design, construction, and compliance activities on project delivery projects comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Manages submissions and payments to authorities having jurisdiction to obtain permits for all IPS activities.
  21. Oversees startup activities if included in the project scope.
  22. Oversees commissioning activities if included in the project scope.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • BS Construction Management or related engineering field
  • 10+ years of construction management experience, new construction and upgrade/expansion within the pharmaceutical/biologics industry
