  • Position Responsibilities

    IPS is hiring! We are looking for a talented Director of Process Mechanical Engineering, to join our growing team at our EMEA headquarters located in Birmingham, UK.


    The Director of Process Mechanical, provides Leadership in Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering. Ensures that service levels are maintained and that delivered projects are of the highest quality. Takes necessary actions to maintain IPS’ reputation for excellence in Process/Mechanical Engineering. Develops and executes strategic plan and meets or exceeds annual business plan for subject matter. Promotes IPS subject matter capabilities. 


           Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develops and manages the strategic plans.

    • Develops, reviews and analyses reports relating to strategic plans on a regular basis.

    • Promotes IPS and creates brand awareness.

    • Works with sales and marketing support staff.

    • Maintains a high level of repeat business.

    • Develops and maintains client and vendor relations.

    • Coordinates overall project scope, complexity and planning for project development.

    • Develops budget, scheduling, staffing and technical support required to maintain leadership.

    • Actively participates in appropriate trade organisation, speaking engagements, technical committees, etc. and publishes papers in journals.

    • Responsible for developing and maintaining best practices and standards.

    • Assists with the hiring and retaining of personnel in support of the strategic business plan and budget.

    • Helps to ensure that all employees within their department are properly managed and trained.

    • Instils a positive work environment and facilitates effective staff development efforts.

    • Communicates regularly with all levels of management at IPS and communicates resource needs in advance to ensure delivery of the highest quality product.

    • Special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Extensive and diversified engineering experience, with significant experience in a supervisory or management capacity, consisting of planning, designing and construction of engineering projects.
    • Life Science industry experience designing processes and facilities for the cGMP production of biological and pharmaceutical drugs.
    • Proven progressive administration abilities, capacity, and aptitude planning, organising, supervising and coordinating technical work while obtaining cooperation from others.
    • Analytical thinking, structured problem solving, team building and communication skills combined with a strong work ethic is paramount.
    • Must be able to build a rapport with department staff.
