As an experienced electrical engineer, you’ll assess the requirements of a project, break it into tasks, and work with a Project Manager to determine scope of work, budget and staffing. You’ll also prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems. Some drawings you’ll create yourself, and other sketches will be incorporated into drawings by drafters. You may create specialized drawings such as electrical riser diagrams. Knowledge of local codes and industry standard equipment and ability to specify it for proper applications is important. You’ll also do estimating, review contractor application for payments, review construction budgets, and coordinate document completion.

You will regularly interact with clients, listening to their needs, and positively demonstrating the IPS focus on client experience. You’ll build strong relationships with internal design teams and external clients as you work to provide solutions, all while building life impacting facilities.

You’ll be able to work locally from home or from the Germantown, MD office. You’ll be expected to travel for occasional meetings and site visits (around 5-15% of your time).
